Free Consultation
If you are interested in meeting with Bekah to discuss your needs, you are welcome to reach out and schedule a free consultation. Consultations can be at your home, a local coffee shop, or the office of Homestead Mama Birth Services, which is downtown
Coeur d'alene.
Phone & Email Support
Once you have signed a contract for services, Bekah is available to you via phone, text and email. Feel free to reach out with any questions that may come up after prenatal appointments or appointments with your other care providers.
A Minimum of 2 Prenatal Visits
I offer our clients a minimum of 2 prenatal visits before your birth begins. At these visits we can create a customized birth plan, discuss comfort techniques, and address any questions that you may have. I like to offer one visit per month for the duration of your pregnancy from 6-9 months
During labor
When you believe you are in active labor, Bekah will join you at your home or birth place. During labor, doulas provide continuous support with massage, acupressure, comfort techniques, emotional support, and positioning. Doulas can also recognize the stages of labor both physically and emotionally, and can help you determine when you should depart to your birthing facility.

As a Doula, I Do Not:

Perform any clinical tasks
A doulas job is to support her clients mentally, emotionally, and through physical support in the way of comfort measures. It is not a doulas job to do cervical checks or perform ANY medical tasks on the mother or baby.
Baby’s first feeding Support
After the birth of your baby, Bekah can assist &/or support you in the baby's first feeding. Bekah is knowledgable in breastfeeding and can help you position baby, or just guide you verbally with a few tips & tricks.
Make decisions for you
A doulas role is to educate her clients so that you can make the best decision for you and your family. We provide evidence based education and resources to our clients.
Postpartum follow-up visit
During your first week postpartum, it is our goal to do a follow-up visit with you, your partner and your baby. During this visit we will recap your birth experience, address any questions you have regarding baby care, breastfeeding, and the birthing mother's self care.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
We can provide you with the information you need to make a decision, but we cannot assert any decisions on your behalf.
Bereavement Services
If, at any time, you find that you need a bereavement doula or any resources pertaining to pregnancy loss or still birth, please contact Bekah today! See the Bereavement Page for additional information.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
It is our goal to help you achieve the birth YOU want.
Community Resources
We have an extensive list of resources within the community. If you are in need of anything in particular, feel free to reach out and we can forward the list to you.
